Those who worship God must worship in Spirit and Truth. The Passion Translation says, "Worshiping the Father will be a matter of the right heart (not the right place). For God is a spirit, and He longs to have sincere worshipers who worship and adore Him in the realm of the Spirit and Truth." (John 14:24)
God is calling us to stillness. To a place of recognition. To awareness. Knowing. In this place, to know, recognize and give place to His Spirit in our lives. A softening and a boldness, confidence in our hearts. Love. It must be the "one thing". It should consume us to a point that when we choose the wrong thing to say or the way we respond or live that we are so convicted to a place of unrest in our souls. A realm where we realize that we must drop our defenses, swallow our pride and turn. Turn to the One who knows all. He has our backs. His intentions are always good even if we don't like it in the moment.
We want to justify ourselves. Explain our stance. Defend our words and actions. But His Spirit within says, "Shhh, Shhh... I got this. Is this all coming from a place of love?" And if we answer, "No," then we must repent and allow Him room. Space for Him to move in our being and fight for our souls His way. His perfect and thorough way.
Flesh and blood are not worth the condition of your own soul. It doesn't matter how others judge you. We only need to concern ourselves with God's judgment. His Word is sharper than a two-edged sword. (Heb 4:12) It separates our actions and intentions, our thoughts and our heart. And His righteousness covers it ALL as you CONTINUALLY yield to Him and put yourself under His covering.
His joy then bursts like a wellspring in your heart. His love and His peace surrounds you like a warm, weighted blanket. You begin to be more easily moved by things of the spirit as well as firmly grounded in the surety of His goodness and faithfulness.
This is the abundant life.
